Finca Muñoz Barrel Fermented is a red wine of the Protected Geographical Indication Wines of Castile Land, coming from vineyards with an average age of 40 years. The main identity of this wine is the expression of the variety and certain characteristics of the soil, thanks to the Tempranillo long-term adaptation to the soil during a long period of time. Grown on clay-calcareous composition soils, the wine is moderately aged in oak for only 6 months.
Made only with Tempranillo, the grape was selected by hand. After a careful selection of clusters, the grape harvest was subjected to squeezing after separating the stems from the grapes and was put into the steel tanks for fermentation and incubation of 15 days at a controlled temperature.
This wine was created in 20% French and 80% American oak barrels for 6 months at a temperature between 13° and 16°C. The age of the barrels did not exceed two years, which allowed to pick some toasted nuances of the wood, with the touches of vanilla and coconut that the American oak provides. The aroma emphasizes the fruit notes such as black fruit compote given by the Tempranillo, as well as the wood notes with nuances between spices and timber.
